Under a 2 Tier plan, how much you pay for a prescription depends upon whether the drug is generic or brand name. Your lowest copayment or coinsurance is for generic or Tier 1 drugs. Your higher copayment or coinsurance is for all other brand name drugs or Tier 2 and Tier 3 drugs.
